Discussion on Constitution and By-laws

  • Member limitation- We discussed that there could be a minimum GPA required for membership of the club. Secondly, we should consider UB’s policy for student conduct and we agreed that members should follow a Code of Ethics and Conduct and could be voted out of the Club if they were disruptive or disrespectful. The voted system would require a ¾ majority.
  • Levels of membership- There could be 2 levels.

1) Base-line members- Members that are there to learn but not involved in project

2) Developers- Members making the projects

  • The terms of office will be for 1 year unless officers graduate at odd times
  • Officerships can be amended but we are not allowed to deviate from the club’s mission statement
  • President can be removed from office by majority due to dissatisfaction
  • Advisors will be chosen from whichever faculty is there and willing
  • A Quorum is made up of 75% of the officers and 75% of the membership. President or Vice-President must be present

Roles of Officers:

1) President- He/She is the guide and manager. Responsibilities include directing meetings, setting the path and direction of the Club. He/She has executive power to clear ambiguities. Issues will be voted upon but President will have veto power and final say.

2) Vice-President- He/She is the advisor and envoy for the President when he/she is unable to officiate. Vice-President has the same roles as the President and will try to enforce decisions and keep us on track. He/She will also have veto power and will be the go-between for President and members as well as the Student Council.

3) Treasurer- He/She will manage and seek funds for the Club. The Treasurer is responsible for keeping track of financial expenses and the monthly audits of the external bank account.

4) Secretary- He/She will take the minutes of each meeting and is responsible for posting the minutes onto the website. This is primarily a communication role and the Secretary is also responsible for editing all literature of the Club.

5) PR Officer- He/She is the conductor of all activities/functions of the Club. The PR Officer is responsible for the advertisement of the Club and will oversee the designing of all flyers.

Club Project: Zombie Racers: High Speed Shambling ideas

- Have a City of Heroes type customizer

- Game will be at least 2 and a half D, preferably 3D

- Objective of the game is to win the race

- Entire teams of riders (jockeys?) riding bunches of staggering zombies complete with zombie bridle and saddle.

- Zombies are equipped with weapons

- Using the mouse, you must maintain balance on your zombie

- If zombie takes too fast a turn, he would lean to the opposite side and you need to lean into the turns and jerk him up.

- Zombies can lose limbs. When you lose a limb, you start hopping towards someone else to steal their limbs.

- Zombies can take brains. Zombie brainhunt

- Zombies have basic stats. The lower their stats, the more docile they are.

- Conversely, they will try to eat you and other players

- Using models, zombies will lose entire limbs and not part of limbs

- Grand-prix with multiple tracks.

- As you eat body parts, you get new abilities

- Pedestrians will try to run by you and zombies will try to grab them

- The speed of the zombies must be perfect and they could have handicaps
